Letter project reflection:
1. My process was just envisioning different things that can be in the shape of an "A" my initial design ended up not looking as apparent to be an "A" so i changed my idea. I wanted to do something with my favorite animal, a horse, and i wanted to do something not realistic looking.
2. The way i arrived with my concept of nature or animals is because i love animals. I represent my concept because my letter is made up of two horses.
3. The most challenging aspect of my project was that i wanted to add detail to my design but i didnt want it to get cluttered so that it wouldn't look like the letter. I ended up with going with a simple idea so it looks as clean and like the letter as possible.
4. Im extremely satisfied with my project because it turned out exactly how i wanted it to. I wanted a bold outline and clean coloring and that is exactly what my project is.
5. If i were to change something i may want to either add more color or add more detail inside the horses to make them more realistic.
The pictures are in chronological order.
I like the idea of doing your project on your favorite animals, because it brings something that makes you into the project. I do sugest adding more detail to your design.
ReplyDeleteTo reiterate what I said yesterday, I very much like the overall appeal of this design. The blood, red color of the horses gives off a sense of anger, of tension, of a determination to kill. The animal aspect of the design not only shows through the horses "fighting" but through the colors as well. I don't think making the horses realistic is necessary but adding more detail to the horses wouldn't be bad.
ReplyDeleteYour design is definitely a unique way to illustrate an A! It's really cool how you're using a scene that happens in real life (horses fighting and animalistic nature) and just, kind of, manipulating it to create your design. This makes me love the realistic aspect of it. Also, your design is very simple but powerful and I love that!
ReplyDeleteI love your design! I especially like the color choices you made. When you hung your drawing on the board yesterday I could tell immediately that it was supposed to be two horses fighting, since the color red usually represents fierceness and belligerence.
ReplyDeleteWhy red? That is my question to you. Normal horses varies from many colors but definitely not red. Unless you dye their hair -.- I think that a good background will construct coherence to ur design. Good Job overall :D
ReplyDeleteI love the design and the way the horses were cleverly arranged. (cough cough). No but seriously. Your piece really evolved.
ReplyDeleteIt's great that you used an idea and topic that you love. I think your passion for it really showed in this piece. Your final looks very professional and clean
ReplyDeleteI really like your design! The letter A is well designed and unique. It also communicate to others the concept that you like horses. Your choice of using red for the horses really enhance the design and made it eye-catching.
ReplyDeleteI really liked the detail and separation of the tail and mane of the horses because it added a nice, different texture. Also the choice of color is very simple but nicely relate to the picture.
ReplyDeleteI love how as first you think the horses are actually hugging each other, but in reality they are fighting each other. Its amazing how the pictures can be different based on people's perspectives. BTW NICE CAMERA
ReplyDeleteI like your color choices on your horses enhances the tone of violence and fighting that you said you were trying to represent. I also know your love for horses and like how you choose something meaningful and close to you to use for your design
ReplyDeleteI love your design and I think you did it very neatly and creatively. I like your color choice for the horses, I think it makes the piece pop and I like how you used minimal color as well. It makes it easy to look at and it's very clear what your concept is. I also like the way the horses aren't completely symmetrical (how one stands taller than the other); I think the difference makes it even more interesting to look at.
